Train Confident, Capable Cat Operators
Well-trained operators reduce equipment damage, improve safety and boost productivity on the job. We offer extensive training for various pieces of Cat equipment throughout our service area. Our team can conduct training at our locations or travel to your facility. This flexibility helps crews build skills on familiar equipment while keeping training close to daily jobsite demands.
Our experienced team members have deep knowledge of Cat equipment. Each course combines classroom safety procedures with hands-on practice. We also offer optional simulator sessions for certain equipment types. These programs are designed for operators at all experience levels, including those working toward certification.
We offer structured operator training, with courses ranging from entry-level to advanced skill development. Training may include walk-around inspections, safety quizzes, application tips and more.
Build Operator Skills With Three Levels of Instructor-led Training
MacAllister Machinery offers three training levels for equipment operators of any level, combining classroom learning with practical time on the machine. View our Operator Training brochure for more information.

Flexible Training Formats
We offer more than traditional classroom training, allowing heavy equipment operators to learn at each person’s skill level.
Mobile Cat Simulator Training
Our Cat Simulator technology is a mobile classroom. This mobile simulator is enclosed in a temperature-controlled trailer that we can set up on your site to help train your team. You can add it to in-field training or use it as a stand-alone option. The system features authentic Cat controls with realistic sounds and movement. It is suitable for various training exercises and tracks learning progress. Operators can practice repeated tasks in a controlled setting before applying those skills in the field.
The Cat Simulator is available for the following equipment:
- Excavators: Training covers basic heavy equipment operations. It also teaches challenging techniques like trenching and truck loading.
- Wheel loaders: Training is available for both small and large models. It covers all basic uses for this equipment and skills like loading, unloading, hauling and handling different materials.
- Off-highway trucks: Training exercises include basic skills like driving, braking, loading and unloading. We cover various real-life mining scenarios.
In-Field Training on Your Cat Equipment
In-field training shows operators real-world conditions like weather, terrain, noise levels, and other environmental factors. We offer hands-on, instructor-led training on live Cat equipment. Our highly experienced instructors lead these sessions. They’ll walk you through the equipment’s controls. They will also teach you application-specific skills and safety protocols. You’ll learn with relevant tools, helping you gain troubleshooting skills for future tasks.
