As April 17th arrived, the day brought a refreshing burst of sunshine and warmth following several consecutive days of rain. What beautiful weather for the Richmond Rental Store Open House!

Shiny new JLG boom lifts 30 feet in the air were lined up and CAT flags waving on their posts made it hard for anyone to miss the store entry for the event!

The wonderful weather allowed a nice display and set-up opportunity outside the main entrance to the store to greet customers as they arrived. One of these displays included our special guest, Hot Rod Fuller, NHRA CAT dragster Top Fuel driver from David Powers Motorsports accompanied by the CAT dragster show car. Guests were very excited to get up close to meet Fuller, ask questions and talk about his experiences. But they also enjoyed getting his autograph and some photo opportunities. Rod Fuller, the upcoming legend in top fuel racing, was certainly relaxed during his visit and seemed to be enjoying it himself.

His schedule starts getting pretty busy in the spring, so it was a nice opportunity to support him and have him present for our event in his early season. We look forward to supporting him later this summer at US Nationals! So will Byrco Co., who won hospitality tickets!

In addition to seeing the drag car and visiting with Fuller, customers witnessed the Richmond Chamber of Commerce joining us for a ribbon cutting ceremony to start off the event all the while, one of the local radio stations was doing a live remote.

The event started later in the afternoon in hopes of attracting more attendees from the Dayton area. For those who were fortunate enough to break away from their job-sites that afternoon and join us, they enjoyed a dinner from Jugs catering, and could also participate in a mini-excavator skill challenge which became very competitive to win a CAT jacket.

Many of our attendees were the decision-makers in the business and had the opportunity to meet Chad Brogan, the store manager and Jay Swearingen as well. Our intentions were to increase awareness as to our new location, to educate local businesses about our equipment offerings, and of course to expand our network. With the inclusion of some radio, event marketing and Hot Rod's appearance, I think we certainly attained our goal with the event.
