Cat® Felling Heads More Durable and Productive opens new window
Caterpillar Forest Products recently announced enhancements to improve durability and performance of the CatŪ HF201 and HF221 felling heads for track feller bunchers. Both heads are available in partial or full tilt configurations.

Joe Allen Appointed to New Industry Liaison Position opens new window
Joe Allen has been named forest industry representative, a newly created position in the Caterpillar Forest Products marketing department. He will act as the division's industry and association liaison. In his new role he will also be the division's point of contact on the biomass industry and will oversee customer visits to the LaGrange, Owatonna and Prentice plants.

Cat® TH514 Telehandler - Release and Image opens new window
The new Cat® TH514 telehandler is a robust and versatile machine with a load capacity of 11,000 lb (4990 kg), forward reach of 30 ft. 3 in. (9.2 m) and with stabilizers in the down position, the machine provides lift height of 45 ft. (13.7 m). The TH514 Telehandler is ideal for general construction and industrial markets, as well as specialty markets including power plants and wind farm applications.

Caterpillar Acquires Underground Imaging Technologies, Inc. (UIT) opens new window
Caterpillar Inc. has acquired all assets of Underground Imaging Technologies, Inc. (UIT) through its majority owned affiliate, Underground Imaging Technologies LLC. UIT is an advanced geophysical services company and technology developer based in Latham, N.Y. The acquisition will give Caterpillar the capability to provide geophysical services, specializing in providing three-dimensional representations of underground utilities and other targets.

New Center Post Saw Featured at Expo Richmond 2010 opens new window
Caterpillar Forest Products debuted the SC-57 center post saw at the East Coast Sawmill and Logging Equipment Exposition, May 21-22 in Richmond, Va. The new saw fells trees up to 22 in. diameter and also bunches medium and small stems, making it a versatile saw for thinning through final harvesting. The large box-section gathering arms are designed to support loads that can twist or bend the arms of less rigid saws.

25 Years of Cat® Certified Rebuilds - Release and Images opens new window
Caterpillar initiated the Cat Certified Rebuild (CCR) Program in 1985, and this year, 2010, the 5,000th machine will be rebuilt under the program.
